About Mandaza
Mandaza, an initiated Shona Nganga (Traditional Healer), from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, is a renowned medicine man in Africa who is restoring the old ways profoundly diminished by colonization. Mandaza is known internationally for his work as peacemaker, a healer and a teacher of African wisdom.
This fundraiser will help support the PeaceMania Youth Gathering, A Community Healing Day, and an Inter-Religious Council as well as Mandaza’s visits to schools and neighborhood centers throughout his stay in the Northern Ohio area October 5-15, 2007. Co-sponsors of these events are Pathways Foundation for Peace and Healing (www.peacehealing.org), Inner Harmony Wellness Center (www.innerharmony.info) and City Fresh.
About Myron
Myron Eshowsky, M.S., is a longstanding teaching faculty member of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. He has taught shamanism and its application to modern concerns all over the world since 1986. He has published extensively on the use of shamanism in working in community mental health; preventing violence with youth at risk/street gangs; healing revenge as a spiritual sickness; healing work with prison inmates; shamanism and peacemaking; shamanic work in healing cancer and other aggressive illnesses; and healing places of history where violence repeats itself. Myron is co-founder of Pathways Foundation for Peace and Healing, an organization bringing shamanic work to peacemaking. He is also the first known shamanic practitioner covered under a health insurance plan to provide shamanic healing. |
