As you can see by looking at each of the Birthstone charts I have listed in my blog--(currently there are two links/pages)--there is are several varieties of stones for each month or each sign. To choose which is best for you, just go with what you are drawn to at any given time. One phase of your life may be drawn to the traditional stone listed for you and another phase of your life may get drawn to some other stone or crystal.

These lists were compiled by man and the more modern ones, by business mentalities wanting to sell the more expensive stones to a buying public...not that the lists aren't valid...they just became more commercialized...a lot like the commercialization of holidays. The true meaning behind most of the holidays is lost amid the glitz and glamor of 'buying-buying-buying'. The same has become true of the crystal and stone world.

Don't buy a crystal or stone because that's what they are selling on the TV shopping channels as the rage of the season. Buy a stone or crystal because it calls to you and makes you feel good.

Over the next few weeks...(less I hope)...I will add the general meanings and any personal insight to the gems on the Birthstone lists, so be sure to check back for the additions. They will be listed by the gemstones or month or possibly both.
