It's taken me a while to get to this, and I do apologize, however, my life took an unexpected, yet very pleasant, turn recently which doesn't let me work on my pages as much as I would like. Neither will I be doing as many shows for the remainder fo the year.

This is a short list of select stones and crystals. The definitions and the associated properties are a compilation from other works as well as personal experience.

Amethyst--Amethysts generally range in color from a pale lavender to a deep, royal purple. They are said to aid with spiritual awareness, psychic abilities, detoxification (especially alcohol); promote inner peace and are very healing for the body, mind and spirit. The coolness of the color lends to calm, more focused meditations. They are soothing to the soul. Works with the Crown Chakra point.(Some legends or folklore have it said that placing an amethyst in your wine goblet will keep you from getting drunk. Another tidbit...placing small amethysts in a cat's water dish will help keep kitty from getting fleas.)

Aquamarine--Aquamarines range in color from a light blue to a blue-green, most often pastel. Gemmy aquamarines have a distinct clarity about them while the lesser grades are a bit more opaque or semi-translucent. (The lesser grades are just as powerful as the clearer grades...just more affordable.) They are said to aid in cleansing, serenity, peace, prophecy, inspiration & strength. They are generally considered a feminine stone due to their association with water. They are also said to aid is safe travel on water and to assist one in seeing through deceptions. Works with the Heart to Throat Chakra points.

Hematite--Hematite has a silvery gray metallic appearance and is a good grounding stone. It is also said to shield one from negativity. It is sometimes said to be a lucky stone for those who are drawn to it. This happens by getting them to stay grounded and to pay attention to the opportunities abounding around them which they may have otherwise overlooked. Marcasite is another form of hematite. There is also a form called specular hematite which is more like a dusting or finely ground hematite rolled into one stone...raw and unpolished. Works with the Root Chakra point.

RED Jasper--Reddish-orange to red, opaque stone, often with slight swirls of yellow ocher and may once have been considered a sacred stone by the Native Americans due to its protective qualities. Also said to aid in dream recall and to help prevent setbacks in most disorders. Also said to aid with providing energy and obtaining justice during legal matters. Works mostly with the Root Chakra point but may stretch into the Second Chakra point area as well working with the 'survival' mode.

Clear Quartz--Clear Quartz is one of the best all around stones/crystals for any healing/energy work. It may be 'programmed' via meditation to due whatever may be required of it. It corresponds most closely with the Crown to Etheric Chakra points but works with any of the points. Quartz is said to be able to draw energy as well as to send it; works extremely well during meditations; fosters wisdom, transformation and is a link to ones higher consciousness.

WHITE/MILKY QUARTZ--This is a milky white opaque quartz which is most often the matrix or base for other members of the Quartz family. It normally does not have terminations but does contain the same energies as its major off-spring, clear quartz. It simply is not as focused, thus making it a wonderful amplifier for any other stone. Due to the milky whiteness, it will work with any of the Chakra points.

Sodalite--"The Poor Man's Lapis"...this stone is often hard to tell apart from its pricier cousin, Lapis Lazuli. Sodalite is generally a bit darker blue than Lapis but not always. The major difference between the two stones is that Lapis has specks of Iron Pyrite scattered throughout which may be seen, through general observation or magnification, whereas Sodalite does not. Lapis also tends to be mixed with gray streaks while Sodalite is mixed more with white streaks or flecks. The energies are very similar to Lapis, encouraging rational thinking, emotional balance, intuition and higher knowledge. It is also said to aid with communication and writing; balancing energy levels through the thyroid, pituitary, lymph and other glands; returning to one's body after astral travel; throat, insomnia, neck, mouth, hearing, and bloodsugar. May also aid in sinus inflammations as well as high blood pressure. Overall, Sodalite is a stone of communications and calming energies. It works with the Throat to Third Eye Chakra points.

Had to end with a bit of a chuckle. Even though the stones and crystals appear hard and cold...they, too, love the sound of laughter and respond accordingly. Try it sometime and see if you can feel a difference. I certainly have. Stone/crystal keepers or sellers who have no laughter or love and are merely in it for the money, foster the same in the stones and crystals. Keepers and dealers who love and laugh with their 'children' have happier and brighter 'off-spring' to share with others.

That applies to the stones and crystals as well as to the physical children.
