The gem quality version of this stone is blue to green translucent, however, the non-gem quality variety may be more opaque with a bit more of a color range, including variations of the blue-green, even a beige/yellow green/blue.Aquamarines range in color from a light blue to a blue-green, most often pastel. Gemmy aquamarines have a distinct clarity about them while the lesser grades are a bit more opaque or semi-transluscent. (The lesser grades are just as powerful as the clearer grades...just more affordable.) They are said to aid in cleansing, serenity, peace, prophecy, inspiration & strength. They are generally considered a feminine stone due to their association with water. They are also said to aid is safe travel on water and to assist one in seeing through deceptions.
